Sunday morning worship wrinkles the Church

Jesus Christ is returning for a Church that has not a spot or wrinkle.  As it stands Sunday morning worship service is that spot and wrinkle.  There is only one timeline that fits the crucifixion to resurrection – three days and three nights that Jesus spoke of in Matthew 12:40, “For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth”.  Three days and three nights equates to a period of 72 hours.  Jesus breathed his last breath around the ninth hour, see Matthew 27:46, that would be around 3PM.  There were 3 hours left to the day before sunset at the 12th hour.  Jesus had to be buried before the Sun went down which began the feast of unleaved bread – the first day of the feast was a high Sabbath.  So Jesus had to be in the tomb by 5:30PM.

And now we count, 5:30PM Wednesday to 5:30PM Thursday (24 hours), 5:30PM Thursday to 5:30PM Friday (48 hours), 5:30PM Friday to 5:30PM Saturday (72 hours).  Jesus Christ rose back from the dead around 5:30PM Saturday evening.  Now go ahead and see if you can fit the 72 hours into any other scenario – but you must use what the scriptures have given for the time of the death of Jesus Christ.

That being said, Sunday morning worship cannot be justified by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  The seventh day Sabbath is a part of the Ten Commandments and we are supposed to obey all ten as followers of Christ.  As the body of Christ – we are not obeying all Ten Commandments by observing the first day of the week as the “Lord’s Day”.  The Church is committing corporate sin against God – this is the Church’s greatest spot and wrinkle!  And my question for you today is, what are you going to do about it?
